Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 1.54%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Non-Metal Mineral Products, Banking and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.54%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Limak Dogu Anadolu Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:LMKDC), which rose 4.94% or 1.44 points to trade at 30.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT) added 3.54% or 0.49 points to end at 14.35 and Kaleseramik Canakkale Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi AS (IS:KLSER) was up 3.24% or 1.26 points to 40.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS), which fell 5.97% or 31.00 points to trade at 488.50 at the close. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) declined 5.26% or 1.28 points to end at 23.04 and Ronesans Gayrimenkul Yatirim AS (IS:RGYAS) was down 5.26% or 7.00 points to 126.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 423 to 145 and 14 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.92% or 24.66 to $2,710.46 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.48% or 0.33 to hit $68.70 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.24 to trade at $72.38 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.09% to 34.84, while EUR/TRY fell 0.33% to 36.64.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 106.26.
