Several of former president Donald Trump’s close associates and allies have been indicted in Arizona for their alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results by trying to award the state’s electoral votes to Trump instead of Joe Biden, who won the state by 10,457 votes.

The charges follow a year-long investigation by Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes (D). Arizona is the fourth state, after Michigan, Georgia and Nevada, to seek charges against those who formed an alternate slate of presidential electors.
