Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.46%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.46% to hit a new 52-week low.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA), which rose 5.31% or 1.71 points to trade at 33.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB) added 2.45% or 13.02 points to end at 544.17 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) was up 2.42% or 4.11 points to 174.03 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which fell 6.10% or 0.52 points to trade at 8.00 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) declined 3.87% or 0.60 points to end at 14.91 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) was down 3.41% or 6.07 points to 172.14.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 148 to 73 and 16 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 21.05 to $2,635.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.20% or 0.14 to hit $69.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $73.34 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.50% to 20.10, while EUR/MXN fell 0.58% to 21.30.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 106.12.
