Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 2.21%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 5.50% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 4.91% or 0.07 points to end at 1.54 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 4.76% or 0.17 points to 3.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which fell 1.58% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.81 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) unchanged 1.53% or 0.00 points to end at 0.29 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was down 1.05% or 0.15 points to 14.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 80 to 33 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.59% or 15.71 to $2,665.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.46% or 0.31 to hit $68.31 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.30 to trade at $72.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.05% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.81% at 106.69.
