Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The best performers of the session on the were BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:), which rose 23.13% or 0.99 points to trade at 5.27 at the close. Meanwhile, First Quantum Minerals Ltd . (TSX:) added 8.04% or 1.40 points to end at 18.81 and Tilray Inc (TSX:) was up 6.59% or 0.11 points to 1.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aya Gold & Silver Inc (TSX:), which fell 3.73% or 0.42 points to trade at 10.84 at the close. TFI International Inc (TSX:) declined 2.72% or 5.57 points to end at 198.94 and Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX:) was down 2.18% or 0.17 points to 7.63.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 629 to 295 and 94 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.25% or 32.69 to $2,640.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.57% or 1.11 to hit $69.47 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $72.91 a barrel.
CAD/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 0.70, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0.42% to 0.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 107.57.
