Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.34%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3), which rose 4.66% or 0.26 points to trade at 5.84 at the close. Meanwhile, BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) added 3.74% or 0.88 points to end at 24.41 and Natura & Co SA (BVMF:NTCO3) was up 3.25% or 0.45 points to 14.29 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3), which fell 3.06% or 0.22 points to trade at 6.97 at the close. Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3) declined 2.19% or 1.22 points to end at 54.44 and Rede D’Or São Luiz SA (BVMF:RDOR3) was down 2.17% or 0.64 points to 28.82.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 541 to 398 and 60 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.49% to 29.59.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.83% or 21.80 to $2,636.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $69.41 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.70% or 1.97 to trade at $284.17 .

USD/BRL was up 0.39% to 5.77, while EUR/BRL rose 0.30% to 6.11.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 106.12.
